XD002: Lovrina's Revenge

Chapter 1:

“NO!! You can’t like release Naps before me!!”

“We’re sorry Lovrina, but Naps is being released not only for good behavior, but because Professor Krane bailed him out. Now shut up and stay silent in your cell.”

“Like I totally would like love to stay silent! I like demand a lawyer! Orre has lawyers and, like, I want one!” Lovrina yelled even louder than before, as she watched her younger brother was taken away by Sherles, the Chief of Police…

Jail did not serve Lovrina well. She was not even 20 years old yet, and the orange suit was too baggy on her. Her ridiculously long, trademark pink pigtails were ragged and matted and dirty. Most of it was frizzed out. Her goggles were smashed in one place, making them useless to her. Her long boots were forevermore doomed to be dirt stained from the unclean prison. Because she was one of the most wanted criminals in Orre, she had no rights. No television, no computer, and heavily guarded outside time when she was in the Pyrite Jail outdoor section. Escape was not possible, because nitwit Officer Johnson was relocated to Phenac City, and a new guy, Officer Gerome was like a machine. He never took breaks, he never slept.

The former Cipher head scientist groaned. She never expected the plan to go wrong to start with. She never imagined jail time either. Greevil never ever mentioned the word jail towards his Admins. Grunts, such as her brother Naps, yes. It was all Michael’s fault!! It all started with him gathering information about the Cipher Lab. And on top of all he ruined, the true icing on the cake was the fact that he Snagged XD001, Shadow Lugia. Her perfect creation. And to top that off, he managed to Purify it, something that she never thought was possible.

But, there was one thing that the Police of Orre couldn’t take away from her. Her knowledge. She was the daughter of Ein, the first and the most greatest of all Cipher scientists. She made XD001 all by herself with a little help from the R&D team. She could do it again.

She could make XD002.

The question was, what Pokémon to use? She couldn’t use Lugia. Ho-Oh? No, Ho-Oh was gone too. The first man to defeat Cipher, named Wes, according to citizens, captured Ho-Oh after winning its respect.

Then, it dawned on her what Pokémon to use. She could make an elite group of XDs. XD002 would be the ultimate one, and XD003 would be something weaker, but not by much.

Lovrina’s plan was so perfect, she grinned evilly. “Okay, Chief Sherles, I’ll play along with the goody-goody game. But when I get out, you’ll regret it! AND SO WILL MICHAEL!” she thought to herself.

After all, you can’t beat the Alpha and that was exactly what Lovrina was betting on.

Chapter 2:

A few years later…

“Lovrina! You’re brother is here to see you.” Sherles called. Gerome nodded at someone and motioned towards her cell. Lovrina walked forward. In her evil scheming over the past couple of years, she had almost all but forgotten about Naps, her younger brother.

She took a look at him. Without his uniform, she almost did not recognize him. She forgotten about his now silky dirty colored hair, or his amazing blue eyes. He was still of lean build, but his soft smile seemed to make up for it. They didn’t speak, but Naps held his hand out through the bars of the cell. Lovrina looked at his hand, then took it gently.

“Naps… Like, where in the world have you been?!” Lovrina asked, intentionally ruining the moment, something of which she was known for. She then gave Naps an iron grip, that put a Mawile’s jaw to shame.

“Trying to raise money.” He said, wincing in the pain of her grip. “To bail you!”

Lovrina’s iron grip suddenly broke, and her jade green eyes were wide in shock. “Like, what did you just say? Bail me out? Like, Naps, that would be, like, totally awesome if you could. I, like, promise I’m a changed woman.”

Gerome might have raised an eyebrow, but Lovrina did not notice. She was almost giddy with joy. She was now almost out of this dump, and almost ready to make her new XD plan a reality. She even knew how to summon the Alpha, thanks to her father’s old stories.

It was almost far too easy.

“Don’t worry, Lovrina. It took longer then I hoped, but I made enough money to get you free.” He walked away and gave the money to Sherles. Lovrina moved to the right side of her cell, trying to see past the doors and the bars, and saw Sherles dull gray eyes open wide at the sight of the huge wad of cash. He started to count, and one dropped to the floor, then picked up by the wind and landed by Lovrina’s cell. Lovrina managed to see that it was a million dollar bill before Gerome picked it up.

Her brother worked so hard, despite how cruel she had been to him. It almost made Lovrina cry. Almost.

Soon, Sherles got up, shook Naps’s hand, and walked over to the cell. Lovrina stood up, proud and tall. “Lovrina, I hope I won’t see you involved with anymore criminal activities. Good bye, and Arceus bless.” Sherles said, and opened the cell.

“Arceus will be blessing me, actually. The Alpha Pokémon is doomed to be mine.” She thought as she bowed lightly towards Sherles. She looked at Gerome coldly then turned towards Naps.

She almost leapt into his arms, in pure bliss. She could eat real food, watch television, and enjoy a computer! She ripped off her orange suit, and her normal outfit was revealed. It was wrinkled horribly, and dirt stained. The light cadet blue color was faded, almost to light gray. Her pantyhose had tears in them towards her boots, which had more stains than ever.

“You, look… er… like, lovely?” Naps tried to offer as a compliment.

“Why, like, thank you so much for noticing.” Lovrina said, her squeaky voice full of sarcasm.

Chapter 3:

A few months later…

“Lovrina, where do you go during the day?” Naps asked. They were in their little home in Phenac City. Lovrina loved living here, yet, it was too far away from the old Lab. Her REAL home. She missed the sound of machinery after being stuck in jail for so many years.

“Realgam Tower, I, like, keeping telling you. Don’t you pay attention? It’s fun to gamble there.”

Lovrina was not lying; she went there every day, and she did gamble there a lot now that she was legally able to. Realgam Tower was also the former base of Cipher, long ago. Lovrina went there to see who came and who to get information from. She didn’t dare tell anyone, even Naps, her plan.

“Do you even win anything there?” Naps asked.

“Like, sometimes, but like, I totally think that its rigged to like make me fail.” Lovrina said.

Suddenly, Naps pinned Lovrina to a wall. Lovrina gasped, and her hand reached right for the slot where her Shadow Delcatty once was. No more; that evil brat Michael Snagged it! Now her hand rested on her Roselia. “Like, what is the meaning of this Naps?! Let me go, like, right now!”

“I want to know something. What are you really up to Lovrina?” Naps demanded. “I knew you since I was born, and I know when you’re hiding something. Well? I’m waiting.”

Lovrina shoved Naps aside, and he fell to the floor. There was a bad crunching sound in his back. “Naps, like, I should have known I couldn’t trust you! You were planning on ratting me out for money!”

Naps slowly hobbled up, blood coming out of his back. “You used a sentence without ‘like’… That’s a first.” He muttered. “And yes, my greed did get the better of me just now… I was hoping to do that in the middle of your plans…”

Suddenly, compassion took over Lovrina. She knew of his… condition… and knew that she hurt him badly. There was not much time.

She sent out her Roselia, who used Aromatherapy to sooth Naps’s nerves. Then, she went to the cabinet in the kitchen area and wrapped him up, compressing the wound so it stopped bleeding.

“Lovrina? You’re being nice for a change…” Naps muttered as she took care of her younger brother.

“I might be evil, but I won’t let you die. Cause, like, I totally need you for my plans. Like, I need an assistant, and, like, that assistant is totally going to be you.”

“If I were Michael, would you let me die?”

Lovrina was silent, for a moment. Would she? Would she kill Michael if she had the chance? She just wanted to reclaim her glory from him, after all. She didn’t even want a Cipher revival.

“Yes. I, like, totally would.” She said darkly.

Chapter 4:

A few weeks later…

Lovrina danced with joy through the silent Lab. She and Naps decided to live there most of the time. They spent the past few weeks stocking up on food and lots of water. Batteries and cables too. They had work to do.

“Lovrina, are you sure this plan isn’t going too far?” Naps asked one day, over their dinner. It was a ramen dinner, Lovrina’s favorite dinner.

“Like, when it comes to Michael, nothing will ever be too far.” Lovrina answered, her cheeks bulging as she slurped up the ramen. She swallowed and sighed. “I don’t mean to revive Cipher. Oh, like, heck no to that. But, like Mommy always said…”

“Revenge is sweetest when your target has forgotten.” Naps finished for her. He was quite familiar with Lady Venus’s long list of everyday quotes.

“Like, totally. Naps… There is just one complication to the whole plan. Something that may as well make us, like, stop and think.”

Naps dropped his chopsticks, his blue eyes wide in shock, with his mouth open, ramen falling down his cheek. “You?! Stop and think?! Like, the world might just be ending.”

“Like, stop overreacting Naps. I’m a scientist, just like you. Like, of course I think. But, like, I need to really think, like super hard on this.”

“Why?”

“I… I… I might be in love with Michael.”

Like before, Naps had to look up in shock. But he was not overreacting. “YOU?! LOVE?! MICHAEL???!!! The world really is ending! You hated his guts! You wanted him dead. Yet you LOVE him all of a sudden?? Lovrina, did you lose your mind in jail?”

“I might as well have. But Naps, he is… I, like, don’t know what the word I’m looking for is…”

“Horrid?”

“No.”

“Evil and should burn in the deepest depths of the Earth’s fire?”

“No no no! Like, shut up Naps.”

And with that tone in her voice, Naps knew better then to be annoying, so he didn’t say another word, and went back to eat his ramen. He looked up and saw Lovrina was eating again too, but was making faces at her food. She was thinking, and the food probably tasted plain and sticky in her mouth. She shoved her unfinished bowl of ramen, and stormed away to her private part of the lab, where once a long time ago, her father, Ein stood, wiping away data before he was ruined and his Shadow Raikou was Snagged…

“Father… What was it like when you met mom? The great Lady Venus from The Under…” Lovrina muttered to herself. It was hard to think she was born of the great Lady. She didn’t act it very much, but then again, she didn’t act much like Ein either. Naps was more like Ein.

But one thing that no one in her family ever really explained to her was love. So she didn’t even know if she really loved Michael or was it just a fleeing emotion?

Lovrina was so upset that she smashed her fists into the desk. She gasped and pulled away quickly, as the blood flowed into her fists and their pulses pounded in pain quickly.

“This, like totally sucks!! I don’t know whether to go on with my plan or not!!” Lovrina yelled out, knowing no one would hear her in this part of the lab. The stainless steel walls had soundproofing materials under them.  “I don’t want to love Michael!!”

There is only one true way to tell one is in true love.

Lovrina looked around. No one was there. The room was empty, except for herself and the computer stuff.

Simply take his hand.

“Like, I demand to know who said that!”

It’s a pity, Lovrina, you no longer know your own father.

“Father?! Where are you? Show yourself!” Lovrina was now panicking, or at least was close to. It sounded like her father, Ein, but with static crackling, as if it were a transmission. She turned to her computer. An image of Ein’s face was there, he was looking directly at her. Then it occurred to her – she left the webcam on. She rushed to the computer and sat down on the swivel chair, lowering the camera down so he could see her better. “Oh Father! I missed you, like, so much.”

Lovrina, I risked using the webcam to inform you and your brother of some very important information.

“Then tell me, Father. Like, don’t hold anything back. Like, I need you to help me complete my plans.”

Then listen well, Lovrina. I have already told you the stories on how to summon the Alpha, and you must remember them fully. Also, seek out Nascour. Nascour will help you in any way. You are the next heir to Cipher… You have armies all over the world, ready to bring about Armageddon and revive the Shadow Pokémon plan that way.

“Father, I do not know if I want to revive Cipher. I just want revenge on Michael. And that’s where my potential feelings could get in the way.”

FOOL! LET DOWN OF A DAUGHTER! You could rule the world and you reject it… out of LOVE?! I fell in love with your mother while I was helping Masters Nascour, Evice and Greevil takeover the world! Find Nascour! Revive Cipher! Recreate the world!!

“Father… how did you know I was online anyway? You, like, don’t have access to this page. It’s encrypted to, like, the highest degree.” Lovrina asked suspiciously. Something was just not right about Ein. He would have been more gentle to her, not yell like this. “Let me speak to Mom while you’re here.”

Very well, I’ll put her on. Hold on.

The screen went black and fuzzy. Suddenly, a new image popped up. It was of a larger woman, with a frilly, lacy pink dress. A pink veil covered her red curly locks of hair, and a good portion of her face. Her make-up was on thickly, almost like a clown.

Like, hello my darling daughter. It is I, your mother Lady Venus. How good to hear from you. I hope all is well. Do not mind your father. He is upset at his own failures in the past.

It sounded like Venus, but it was not as magnanimous as Venus. She had suddenly developed an accent. Lovrina lowered her jade green eyes. Someone was toying with her. “Mother… I just wanted to, like say hi. But, like, now I have to go. I’m now plotting to squash a few mice.”

Lovrina disconnected the line before Venus could answer.

She rode up the elevator, and stormed up to Naps, was in the lounge area, writing on a white board. He was making a list of what had to be done before they could safely leave the Lab. Was the fresh data wiped? Were all the lights off? Were the ACs off? Those kinds of things.

“Someone is, like, toying with me, and I will not stand for it.” Lovrina said stamping around the freshly swept lounge. She looked around carefully, but there were no computers in the lounge. She eliminated Naps from the list of possible people. Besides, Naps would not turn on her when he had a major part of a plan.

When Naps was younger, Ein was in the middle of seeing how to close the door of a human heart. Was it the same as a Pokémon? The mad scientist simply had to try. And who was a better subject then his own baby boy? Lovrina watched the operation. It was ugly and gruesome. Blood was all over the lab portion of their home. The baby screamed and screamed, begging in his own way for the torture to stop. Lovrina remembered gripping the doorway, watching in horror. Her mother finally pulled her away and soothed Lovrina and held her close, letting Lovrina sob.

Ein eventually brought the baby in. He said Naps was okay now, and all tests showed he was okay and going to live. Lovrina, who was still sobbing remembered how one of Naps’s eyes was bright blood red, and the other, his normal color. It was the only time she ever really saw the bright blood red eye that way. Except when he threw his fits.

Naps never really was an angry child. And in his own way, he loved Lovrina, despite she being so bossy and demanding of him. But when it came to money… Or getting money, he was a different person. The blood red eye would come back, as if his one eye was forever tainted.

The family discovered this on Christmas one year. Lovrina and Naps both eagerly went down to gather their presents. Naps got a load of toys and books, whereas Lovrina got dominantly money and a few trinkets. Naps attacked her ferociously. Lovrina had sent out her Budew to Stun Spore him, until he calmed down.

Ein realized that money would trigger off Hyper Mode. Just simply yelling out his name could snap him out of this. But the attacks got worse each time, and Lovrina saw he always hurt himself as well. Thus, she called it Reverse Mode.

Chapter 5:

Now, Lovrina was tracing the communication from her father. It was from beyond Eclo Canyon. But besides the ruined Team Snagem base, nothing was out there at all. What in the world could be out there? Naps was already asleep in his quarters. Tomorrow morning, they would go exploring Eclo Canyon. Perhaps if Gonzap was still there, he could have information.

Lovrina went to her quarters, a room that was covered in pink wall paper, and Delcatty print velvet carpet. Her king size mattress had Roselia print blankets and Roserade print pillows. She had an Espeon doll sitting on an oak wood night table. She also had two picture frames next to the lavender fox doll. One, which had a silver frame had a picture of her and her family, including a teenage Naps.

Lovrina felt blood rush to her face as she touched the one with the bronze frame… A portrait of Michael. She gently stroked the frame. Then she gripped it with a sudden rush of anger inside of her, building from within her rib cage to her throat, which tightened in her rage. Michael. Love him or hate him, he still did unspeakable things to her. Steal 3 of her Pokémon for starters. Then, he destroyed her own life’s work.

The plan had to go on.

She threw herself onto her bed, and kicked out her long boots, which were still the old pair. For her journey tomorrow, she would wear the new ones she bought with the money she won at Realgam Tower. They were in the style of Uggs, with black trim fur, with a light gray color for the base. These Uggs would go up to her knees. Her stockings were the same. She also got new goggles to replace the smashed pair. Her shirt was the same.

Lovrina stripped off her shirt quickly, and then took off her bra, revealing B-cup size breasts. She got off the bed, and opened a draw, and pulled out Swablu and Altaria print pajamas. She slipped the shirt on, then she pulled off her stockings, and put the pants on. Lovrina left her feet bare. She switched off the main room lights and put on her Rapidash style lamp. The unicorn-like Pokémon lamp lit up the bed, the night table it was on, and the night table with the Espeon doll. She curled up under the blankets of her warm bed, warming her body for a moment and then she sat up. Lovrina took the bands out of her hair, and let down both pigtails. If anyone was watching, they would probably feel urged to say ‘Lovrina, Lovrina, let down your hair’.  In bed, her whole back was covered in a sea of bubble gum pink hair, which spread out like an ocean around her. Her hair could very well have been a blanket of its own.

Lovrina yawned, and her jade green eyes were starting to glue shut from her exhaustion. Tracing the transmission still proved empty of results. She almost felt offended at this. She was a scientist, former head of Cipher technology!

She closed her eyes, and started to dream. Her dreams wandered for a long time, then they turned to Michael, starting off by kissing Lovrina deeply, then robbing her of her Pokémon. He then ran away, into the dark spirals of her dream, into a different thread of a different dream…

Lovrina woke up with a start. “That was so, like, super bad. So, what do I, like, do about it?”

She gripped the Espeon doll, almost as if to rip off its head. She pouted, and wiped the sweat off of her forehead. She then gave up, put the doll back, and went to sleep again.

Chapter 6:

The next day, Lovrina and Naps were hiking. Naps was dressed in a tank top that was blue in color, with white shorts. A dampened towel was around his neck to wipe the sweat off. Lovrina was in her special outfit, with her hair up in the trademark pig tails. Naps sighed, knowing this was probably a wasted trip to Eclo Canyon. A fight with Gonzap was sure to be inevitable, but Lovrina said she had that covered. Naps was worried. That probably meant he was doomed, while she was okay.

Soon, they were within the shaded part of the canyon, and Naps felt better from the heat. After a few more miles of hiking, Lovrina stopped.

“Like, I’m so exhausted, so, like, let’s stop here.” She hadn’t carried anything besides her own water bottle, while Naps was the poor soul carrying all the supplies of food, water, and some computer equipment. After an hour of sitting on the rocks and avoiding wild Skorupi, they started again, towards Gonzap’s lair.

Gonzap was huge, hulking man who enjoyed showing off every ounce of muscle on his chest. He also loved Skarmory and Gloom. Lovrina could roll her eyes. A Gloom was only sweet as a Bellossom, and Lady Venus could vouch for that (since she had one). He was against Cipher 100% to the core after being cheated by them so many years ago. But Lovrina had a plan for creating peace.

Lovrina had made up her mind that she didn’t need Cipher to do as she needed. She needed Team Snagem on her side. ‘Keep your friends close and your enemies closer’, as her mother would say.

Soon, she and Naps spotted the still ruined base. The man known in legend only as Wes had created and explosion here when he abandoned the team and stole the portable Snag Machine. The large version of the machine was the place where the bomb was planted.

“Lovrina, you, like, have to be kidding. Are we really just going to walk up and ring his doorbell?” Naps asked, horrified at the thought of a Gloom opening the door and using Sleep Powder on him.

“You are, so, like, super close to the idea. We’re not going to ring the doorbell, we’re going to, like, walk in uninvited, so don’t panic.” Lovrina said proudly of her idea.

Naps was even more worried, but said nothing more. His siser’s mind was made up already.

Soon, they were inside the crumbling building. Plants and weeds were growing through the building, almost as if Mother Nature was trying to take back her own lands. Proof that the world did not need rebuilding.

Suddenly, Naps heard a noise. “Did you, like, hear that Lovrina?!”

“I so, like, did. Oh Gonzap! I know you like to hang out here, so be a nice man and come forth.” Lovrina said almost playfully. Naps rolled his eyes. She always got like this on a mission. Suddenly, a huge hulk of a man walked before them, followed by other bald men and an army of Gloom and Vileplume. “Ah, Gonzap, so, like, you ARE real.”

“What do you want? We’re done trying to recruit… Wait!” Gonzap suddenly grew angry, and his monster paws turning into fists. “You are from Cipher! The one who was bailed out! I have no mercy or kindness for Cipher people!”

“I, like, know that Gonzap. But I’m done with Cipher. In fact, I’m here on my own doing. Cipher is so like done without Greevil.”

Gonzap seemed to relax a bit, his face suddenly calm. “Okay then, what DO you want?”

“I want to get some information. It would be so very effective if you tell me what I want to know, so, like, be sure to answer truthfully.” Lovrina said, batting her jade green eyes.

“That all depends on what you want to know.” Gonzap said, desperately trying to hide a blush on his puffy face.

“Like, that is so good of you. First of all, what is beyond Eclo Canyon? It is so vital of me to know.”

“Beyond the canyon? A ruin. And beyond the ruin is the ocean, something you can see only at Gaton Port otherwise.”

“That’s like so good to hear. I, like, love the ocean. So much more refreshing than sand.” Lovrina said, dancing around.

“Lovrina…” Naps whispered, trying to get her back to reality.

“Second thing. How do you feel about helping me capture a really large Pokémon and form our own army?” Lovrina asked, her jade green eyes batting and sparkling darkly.

Now Gonzap was the one who almost danced. “A proposition I am most interested in. Tell me, how large is this Pokémon?”

“Oh, bigger then you by like a lot. So consider it a challenge, Gonzap.” Lovrina said.

Chapter 7:

Lovrina and Naps turned away after they finished planning with Gonzap. They headed towards the ruins. Wakin, Gonzap’s second in command, would follow a few days later to make sure they had enough supplies and whatever else they wanted. It was quite clear that Lovrina’s flirting plan worked all too well. Naps took out a camcorder and started filming a tape for Gonzap of the ruins and what they needed Team Snagem to do while they looked for a way to summon Arceus.

“As you can see, many lush green plants grow here, along with lots of fruit.” Lovrina was saying to the camera.

“Is this safe to even eat?” Naps asked nervously as his impulsive sister eagerly grabbed a large pink fruit shaped like a heart.

“Silly Naps. They are so, like, safe. These are Pecha Berries.” Lovrina took out her own camera and took pictures of the fruit for her own records. “So, like, this also proves that Orre’s destroyed region is so becoming more and more healthy again. Like, you can even call it Armageddon, the fight of Good and Evil. Evil is clearly loosing.”

“Lovrina?! You’re a scientist! Since when did you take interest in theology?” Naps gasped, nearly dropping the recording device.

“Shut the camcorder off Naps. Like, NOW!” Lovrina hissed. Naps obeyed, without a word.

“Did you really think that Arceus made us humans? What do you think laid the Egg that Arceus hatched from? Clearly there is a higher being out there. That, my little brother, is, like, science. So don’t you EVER dare question my beliefs.”

“Lovrina… Is this even about Michael anymore? Or are you summoning Arceus because of the power it has?”

“It has, like, always been about Michael. Destroying him is my first priority. But, like, did you read my paper from my senior year in college? About, like, divinity and science being one?”

“No.”

“I didn’t, like, think so. Well, you see Naps, I wrote this paper saying that there is clearly the Ultimate Being out there. One we don’t know of, even in legends. However, the legends we do have point out to it.

“So, like, I presented it to my professors. ‘Arceus cannot be the Ultimate Being, for science would dictate that something laid the Egg it came from. It might be the Alpha of all Pokémon, but not the Alpha of everything, especially humans.’ I argued to them. ‘And something had to endow upon it the powers to create the first seven Pokémon. Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mespirit, Azelf, Mew and Giratina.’ But they all looked at me strangely.

“They then tried to argue against me, and said that the Big Bang had to have created the Egg. But, like, as usual, I so had a well prepared argument.

“ ‘That might have been true, if I did not leave Orre many years ago and went to Hearthrome City in Shinnoh. They have a nice little church there, where I studied. They worship and believe a much higher being… What they call the Ultimate Being… which came long before Arceus, and even the Angels.’ So, with that point in mind, they so could not argue me any further. I expected my paper to be published and made known. But it never was. It most likely is currently collecting dust back at Orre University.”

Naps looked at his sister in a strange wonder. An Ultimate Being? Then realization hit him. “No no no Lovrina!!! Don’t you dare tell me that you’re planning what I think you are!!!”

“Yes I am Naps. I so have to do this. I so, like, have to flush out the Ultimate Being after I destroy Michael.”

“You are insane with power.” Naps said, horrified. “I quit! No position, or amount of money…” At the thought of it, losing the salary Lovrina was paying him, his left eye turned blood red. He could see Lovrina’s terror. “You cannot do what you are doing! I will stop you myself…” he said, with an almost reptilian feel in his voice. He dropped his pack gently to the ground and lunged forward to grab Lovrina. Lovrina, sensing her danger, ran quickly for the pack and put it on her shoulders. Then she ran towards the ruins. She had to shove through the thickening path of fresh plants. She could hear a weary Naps behind her. Suddenly, the plants stopped smacking her face and she came to the beach. But something was not right. Where were the ruins? There was nothing here.

Naps came up from the path as well now. His mouth was foaming, and he grinned and laughed like a maniac. He was already in Reverse Mode. “NAPS!!!!” Lovrina called out as loudly as her vocal cords would let her. Suddenly, Naps passed out before her, his mouth open to let out the foam and blood that had formed from his gums and cracked lips. Lovrina looked at him in a mixture of shock, concern and disgust. Naps slowly started to sit up, and he looked at his sister, and was suddenly afraid. He could remember the terror in her eyes.

His condition was getting worse.

“Naps, how dare you not only try to like quit on me, but then like attack me. I’m almost ready to fire you.” Lovrina said coldly. Naps looked down. “Go back to Gonzap. I think I’ll be there later.” She said in her commanding voice. Naps, without a word or whimper, went away into the overgrowth.

Lovrina sat down on the rocks by the salty ocean spray and sobbed. Her brother was getting worse. He was not fit for the journey any further. But she had to look for these ruins. She had to look everywhere until there was no more land to look for. Lovrina blinked and looked up. She heard a branch near her crack.

It was a Corphish, carelessly walking along the beach. Lovrina never saw a wild one before. Nature must be healthier than she thought. Then again, very few people knew of the ocean here.

Lovrina then started to think about her plan of the Ultimate Being, and how nervous and upset Naps had become over the idea of her trying to tamper with the fate of the Universe by trying to summon it.  She wondered… Was it really worth it? What was she really trying to prove? She couldn’t turn it into an XD prototype. No; her original idea of just summoning Arceus to destroy Michael and make an army of XDs.

So she got up and started walking around again, trying to find the ruins. Suddenly, it occurred to her that maybe the plants were there on purpose. What if they were protecting the ruins?

She went next to the path, and sent out her Roselia.

“Roselia, use cut on these bushes.” She said, and her small Pokémon obeyed. It cut down the plants so she could easily walk through the bushes. And her idea had proven correct.

She came upon what must have been an old city, from an ancient past. The science part of her brain became excited at the idea. She opened her pack and took out her camera and took extensive pictures of everything she could. Roselia helped her take out her computer and set up an antenna for good signal. She opened her Instant Messenger. There was an urgent one from Gonzap.

My lovely Lovrina, I have heard from Naps that you ordered him back and that you are now alone in the wilderness. I will not allow you to be put in harm’s way. Wakin and Biden are going to find you and be your protectors. –Gonzap

Gonzap was just too much. She almost regretted involving him in this plan. Lovrina quickly uploaded her pictures and sent some to Gonzap as quickly as she could.

I am so like in the safety of the ancient city. Do not worry about me. Tell Wakin and Biden to wait on the beach for me. I so need to be alone for this work. PS: Take care of Naps, his condition is getting worse.

Lovrina then walked up to a dais with her Roselia. She could almost taste the ancient power. And smell it too but that’s another story on its own.

On the dais was a carved image of a rainbow-style arch. On each individual arch was a glyph of some sort, presumably in an ancient writing. Lovrina took detailed pictures of the dais, and quickly uploaded them to her computer. Upon further investigation, the glyphs seemed to represent each color of the rainbow. Lovrina pulled out a navy blue notebook, the one with notes from her college paper she had told Naps about earlier, and other notes involving the project over the last few months after getting out of jail. The Ultimate Being has to do with colors, perhaps even light itself.

“But of course!” she said to Roselia. “The Ultimate Being is good, which is associated with light in our mythology. This makes sense that there is a dais with a rainbow. If I wasn’t aware of the Ultimate Being, I’d say this dais was for Ho-Oh, but that church in Shinnoh explained otherwise.”

“Rose?” Roselia wondered what its trainer meant by that.

“There is Light and there is Void. Light is the Ultimate Being, and when any beam of light goes through a prism, it refracts into a rainbow. Void is obviously darkness and evil. So, if we could make a very large rainbow here, I wonder what would happen?”

“Rose…” Roselia had a frightened look on its face. It didn’t like this idea at all. Being a Pokémon, it innately knew of the Ultimate Being, and perhaps others like it.

“Don’t worry Roselia! I can’t summon the Ultimate Being, even though I want to. It’s a good scare tactic though.” Lovrina said.

So, Lovrina left the dais, now to search the ancient houses and temple-like structures. If there were any artifacts, it would be somewhere outside the dais.

She did not have to search long before she found one.
